Türkiye on Monday strongly condemned Israeli attacks on Quneitra and Daraa, saying they violated Syria's territorial integrity, unity and sovereignty.
"We strongly condemn Israel's attacks on Quneitra and Daraa, which are contrary to Syria's territorial integrity, unity and sovereignty," the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"These attacks, which disregard the safety of life and property of the Syrian people and make the lives of civilians in the region increasingly difficult with each passing day, constitute a clear violation of international law and the 1974 Agreement on Disengagement of Forces," it added.
The ministry said Türkiye reiterated its call for the international community to fulfill its responsibility to ensure an end to the attacks.
It said the attacks target "the progress Syria has made since December 2024 and the stability of the region."
Syria also condemned Israeli attacks in the south Monday, saying incursions into its territory and artillery shelling in Quneitra and Daraa violated its sovereignty.
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said the attacks "terrorized civilians" and constituted a breach of international law, the U.N. Charter and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
It said Israel's continued "aggressive practices" undermine efforts to consolidate security and stability, increase the suffering of civilians in targeted areas and risk further escalation in the region.
Syria urged the U.N. and the international community to assume their responsibilities and take measures to end repeated violations.
It also called for respect for the Disengagement Agreement in a way that preserves Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The statements came after the Israeli army said earlier that its forces had killed two people in southern Syria.
The army claimed the two had moved "unusually" inside a so-called "security zone" established by Israel in Syrian territory.
Following the fall of the Assad regime on Dec. 8, 2024, Israel declared the collapse of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement and occupied a buffer zone on the Syrian side of the border.
