The Turkish Ministry of National Defense (MoND) said the YPG-led SDF's continued violations of the extended 15-day ceasefire are negatively affecting the integration process, while emphasizing ongoing efforts to end all conflicts and establish peace and stability in the region.
"The SDF, which is not complying with the March 10 and Jan. 18 agreements that are critically important for establishing lasting stability in Syria, continues to violate the ceasefire extended for 15 days with its harassment attacks.
This is negatively affecting the integration process," the ministry said at its weekly press briefing.
"As we always state, we are closely monitoring developments in Syria on the ground and taking all necessary measures for the security of our units, personnel and borders in the region," the statement continued.
The ministry welcomed the Syrian government's opening of a humanitarian aid corridor in the region as a positive development.
"Our country will resolutely continue to support Syria's fight against terrorist organizations and the enhancement of its defense capacity based on Syria's unity and territorial integrity, in line with the principle of 'One State, One Army,'" the ministry said.
Responding to questions about border measures, the ministry emphasized Türkiye's commitment to regional stability.
"As Türkiye, we do not want new tensions and conflicts in our region. We continue our efforts to end all conflicts and establish peace and stability in our region," the ministry said.
"In addition, all necessary measures are being taken in coordination with the relevant institutions of our state against possible negative developments," it added.
The ministry clarified that navigation warnings issued regarding Greece's activities in the Aegean Sea that are contrary to international law are indefinite, not two years as claimed in the Greek press.
"With the NAVTEX notices we have issued, taking into account navigational safety, we emphasize that all research activities within our maritime jurisdiction areas, including navigation notices covering the continental shelf in the Aegean Sea, must be coordinated with our country," the ministry said.
"We emphasize that conducting military activities in areas including the territorial waters of Demilitarized Status Islands that may endanger navigational safety is contrary to international agreements," it added.
"The Turkish Armed Forces will continue to neutralize unilateral activities and initiatives that ignore our country's rights and interests arising from its maritime jurisdiction areas within the framework of international law."
The ministry said Somali security forces trained by Türkiye are effectively conducting counterterrorism activities within their own responsibilities.
The Somalia-Türkiye Task Force and Air Element Command stationed in Somalia continue to contribute to the development of Somalia's counterterrorism capacity through military assistance, training and advisory activities, the ministry noted.
In counterterrorism operations over the past week, four more PKK terrorists surrendered, the ministry reported.
Ground search and sweep operations continue on and beyond borders, along with detection and destruction of caves, shelters, mines and improvised explosive devices.
The total length of tunnels destroyed in Syrian operation areas reached 753 kilometers (466.02 miles)—302 kilometers in Tel Rifaat and 451 kilometers in Manbij.
