The United Arab Emirates said Saturday that Iran targeted a tanker belonging to the state-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
The UAE Foreign Ministry condemned what it called "the hostile Iranian attack that targeted a tanker belonging to ADNOC with a missile while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz, without causing casualties."
ADNOC confirmed Saturday that one of its vessels was targeted by a missile while passing through the strait, the UAE's official WAM news agency reported, citing the company.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, ADNOC said.
No injuries were reported, and the situation was brought under control, the company added.
On Friday, ADNOC said 15 of its vessels had been attacked in the Strait of Hormuz since the start of the war, including three vessels this week alone.
Earlier, Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency reported that a vessel believed to be an oil tanker had caught fire in the strait's southern corridor.
Citing satellite monitoring, Fars said an oil-spill response and firefighting vessel named ADNOC AR01 had arrived at the scene.
