The United Nations announced that over 1,800 attacks on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank were documented in 2025 across approximately 280 settlements, representing the highest daily average since the UN began recording such incidents in 2006.

UN General Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric made the remarks at the daily press briefing at UN headquarters in New York.

"The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) documented over 1,800 settler attacks on Palestinians in approximately 280 settlement units in the West Bank in 2025," Dujarric said.

"These attacks resulted in casualties or property damage. This is the highest daily average recorded since OCHA began documenting such incidents in 2006," he stated.

Impact on displacement and Palestinian families

Dujarric noted that many families have been displaced due to attacks and pressure from Israelis who seize Palestinian land in the West Bank.

"Attention is drawn to the displacement of many families due to Israeli attacks and pressure in regions where Palestinians' land is seized," Dujarric said.

The UN spokesperson reiterated calls to member states to protect civilians in these areas.

Israelis seizing Palestinian land in the occupied West Bank most recently set fire to five vehicles in the village of Bazariya, north of the city of Nablus, and attacked a school by writing racist slogans on its walls.

Since Israel launched its assault on Gaza in October 2023, there has been an increase in detention, raids, and attacks on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.

The Israeli military is reported to have pressured Palestinians in many areas of the occupied West Bank.

Coordinated settler attacks across regions

According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, Israelis seizing Palestinian land attacked a Bedouin community in the area north of Jericho. Radical Israelis conducted raids on Palestinian homes.

According to Palestinian state television, Israelis seizing Palestinian land seized agricultural land outside the town of Kabalan, southeast of Nablus, and conducted raids on some villages surrounding Ramallah.

Settler Israelis conducted simultaneous attacks, including raids on villages in Mesafir Yatta, south of Hebron.

Eyewitnesses speaking with the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA) reported that dozens of Israelis, under heavy military protection, conducted raids on the Old City in Hebron. These raids occur on a weekly basis.

"These raids restrict the movement of Palestinian residents and merchants," eyewitnesses stated.

Nablus Mosque siege and arrests

Israeli forces carried out a series of raids and shooting incidents across the occupied West Bank early Sunday, killing a Palestinian in Hebron and besieging a mosque while arresting two others in Nablus. The Israeli army said one of its soldiers was wounded during armed clashes.

In the northern city of Nablus, eyewitnesses told AA that undercover Israeli units infiltrated the Old City before large military reinforcements entered from several directions, spreading through residential alleys and market areas amid heavy gunfire.

Israeli forces surrounded Al-Satoun Mosque in the Yasmina neighborhood, trapping dozens of worshippers inside after dawn prayers.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said it coordinated with the International Committee of the Red Cross to evacuate those inside, confirming that at least 12 worshippers were allowed to leave, while others remained held for hours.

Israeli forces and illegal settlers have killed at least 1,104 Palestinians in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, injured nearly 11,000; and detained around 21,000 since October 2023, Palestinian figures showed.
