The United States is exploring multiple formulas to include Türkiye in a Gaza stabilization force despite Israel's categorical opposition, with options including a symbolic troop deployment or a deal for Ankara to expel Hamas officials, an Israeli media outlet reported on Wednesday, Dec. 24.

The report comes as a senior Israeli political source declared Turkish involvement a "red line."
"The Turks will not be part of the international force in Gaza—not armed soldiers and not unarmed ones. This is out of the question. Period," the Israeli source told Channel 14.
Hamas Political Bureau member Khalil al-Hayya met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Ankara on Wednesday to discuss the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire and humanitarian aid.
The issue is reportedly expected to be raised in the meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago in Florida on Dec. 29.
Netanyahu will also raise Israel's displeasure with the U.S. intentions to sell Türkiye nearly 50 F-35 stealth fighter jets, according to the report.
According to the Gaza media office, the Israeli army has committed 875 ceasefire violations in the Gaza Strip since Oct. 10, resulting in the death of over 400 Palestinians and injury of more than 1,100 others.
The Israeli army has killed nearly 71,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured over 171,100 others in attacks in Gaza since October 2023.
