Besiktas goalkeeper Alexander Nubel kept up his perfect European record on Thursday, saving every shot on target he faced as the Turkish side beat Hradec Kralove 1-0 away in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League third qualifying-round tie.
Semih Kilicsoy struck the winning goal in the 80th minute, giving Besiktas a valuable advantage ahead of the return leg in Istanbul.
The Black and Whites, a common nickname for Besiktas based on the club's colors, had been reduced to 10 men nine minutes earlier after Kassoum Ouattara was shown a red card, but they held on to secure the victory.
Nubel, one of Besiktas' new signings, once again stood out between the posts.
Across his first three Europa League qualifying appearances for the club, the German goalkeeper has faced 13 shots on target and saved all 13, meaning he has yet to concede a goal in European competition for Besiktas.
His clean sheet in the Czech Republic helped Besiktas protect their narrow lead despite playing the closing stages with 10 men.
Besiktas have also maintained a flawless European record under head coach Vincenzo Italiano.
The Istanbul club have won all three of their European matches under the Italian coach, scoring four goals without conceding.
Besiktas previously knocked out Midtjylland before taking a 1-0 first-leg advantage against Hradec Kralove.
Besiktas will now host Hradec Kralove at Inonu for the second leg, where they will look to finish off the tie and move into the UEFA Europa League playoff round.
A successful result at home would allow the Turkish club to extend both its unbeaten European start under Italiano and Nubel's run without conceding.
