Atletico Madrid, which recently signed Nigerian left winger Ademola Lookman amid reported interest from both Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, is now being linked with a move for Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen.
Transferfeed report says Atletico completed the Lookman transfer on the final day of the winter window for €35 million (about $41.65 million), with a further €5 million (about $5.95 million) in potential bonuses, and that the Spanish club has since turned its attention to Osimhen, described as Lookman’s close friend at Galatasaray.
TransferFeed reports that Atletico could consider parting ways with Alexander Sorloth in the summer if a suitable offer arrives, and that head coach Diego Simeone has identified Osimhen as the club’s top target for a centre-forward signing.
The same report recalls that Osimhen previously turned down approaches from major European clubs such as PSG, Manchester United, and Juventus in order to join Galatasaray, adding that his personal decision would be decisive if a transfer becomes possible at the end of the season.
According to the claim, Galatasaray signed Osimhen for €75 million (about $89.25 million) and still has 3.5 years remaining on his contract, while setting an asking price of €140 million (about $166.6 million) for any potential exit.
The report that Osimhen produced 37 goals and 8 assists in 41 matches last season, and has recorded 15 goals and 1 assist in 21 appearances for Galatasaray this season.
