Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva is not convinced by a move to Istanbul despite Galatasaray's interest, while Turin side Juventus accelerates talks for the Manchester City star, according to Italian media.
The 31-year-old is reportedly prioritizing a move within Europe despite receiving lucrative offers from clubs in Saudi Arabia and Major League Soccer, and does not currently view a transfer outside Europe as the right step for this stage of his career.
Earlier reports in Turkish media said that Galatasaray was prepared to offer the experienced midfielder a two-year contract worth €10 million ($11.7 million) per season along with a substantial signing bonus, with the overall package reaching around €50 million over a three-year period.
Former Manchester City teammate Ilkay Gundogan is also said to be among the figures trying to persuade Silva to join the Turkish champions.
However, Italian outlet Tuttosport suggested that Juventus intensified contacts with the Portuguese star and offered him a 2+1-year contract worth €6 million per year, with bonuses potentially increasing the total package to around €8 million annually.
The report added that Juventus was expected to accelerate discussions with Silva’s agent, Jorge Mendes, in the coming days as negotiations progressed.
Spanish clubs are also in the race for the midfielder, with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid both linked to initial inquiries, although no concrete negotiations were reported to have progressed so far, the Italian media added.
Bernardo Silva, 31, has spent eight seasons at Manchester City since joining from AS Monaco in 2017, establishing himself as one of the key figures in the club’s most successful era.
His contract is set to expire this summer, which would allow him to leave on a free transfer. According to Transfermarkt, the Portuguese midfielder currently has a market value of €27 million.
Silva made 49 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring three goals and registering five assists.
