Besiktas head coach Vincenzo Italiano has personally stepped into the club's pursuit of Dusan Vlahovic, reportedly calling the Serbian striker and inviting him to Istanbul as negotiations over a potential four-year deal move forward.

According to information reported by the Italian press, Vlahovic has moved closer to Besiktas after parting ways with Juventus and becoming a free agent.

Italiano personally reaches out to Vlahovic

Italiano, who previously worked with Vlahovic, reportedly called the forward directly and invited him to Istanbul as Besiktas looks to push ahead with the transfer.

The report said Vlahovic had been disappointed by the treatment he received from Juventus and was now focused on proving himself at a club prepared to welcome him as a top-level player.

Meanwhile, Besiktas is also said to be continuing talks with the player's father, Milos Vlahovic, as the Black Eagles work to bring the negotiations together.

Besiktas reportedly offers four-year contract

The Istanbul club has reportedly put forward a four-year contract worth around €10 million per season.

The proposed package is also said to include a signing bonus equivalent to one year's salary, meaning the initial financial commitment would go beyond the annual wage offered to the Serbian striker.

Summing up the reported competition surrounding the player, the Italian newspaper concluded: "Italiano has overtaken Spalletti."
