Besiktas continues to strengthen its squad in the final days of the transfer window, securing the long-awaited signing of Czech winger Vaclav Cerny.
The 27-year-old arrives from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg and is set to join the Istanbul-based club.
Cerny is set to sign a 3+1-year contract with Besiktas. According to club sources:
Cerny spent last season on loan at Rangers in Scotland, appearing in 52 matches and scoring 18 goals with 9 assists.
His standout performances included a two-goal display against Fenerbahce in the Europa League at Kadikoy.
As the transfer nears completion, Cerny followed Besiktas’ official social media accounts and liked club posts, generating excitement among fans.
Returning coach Sergen Yalcin prioritized wing transfers in his squad planning. Cerny is one of the players Yalcin singled out as “exceptional,” and the club expedited the deal to meet the coach’s demands.
With all details agreed with Wolfsburg, Cerny is traveling to Istanbul for medical checks and the official signing.
Besiktas is expected to announce the transfer officially within a short period.
