Besiktas is accelerating its transfer efforts and focusing on two important players for the upcoming season. The Black-and-Whites have officially approached young midfielder Mahmudu Bajo from Slovakia and Czech winger Vaclav Cerny, who has impressed while playing for Rangers.

Official offer for Mahmudu Bajo

Besiktas has made a formal bid to Dunajska Streda, a Slovak First League club, for 20-year-old Gambian midfielder Mahmudu Bajo. The club has offered €2 million ($2.24 million) for the promising young player, according to Turkish media. However, initial signals from Dunajska Streda indicate the offer may be rejected. Negotiations are ongoing.

Bajo reportedly wants to leave his current team and is open to joining Besiktas. This season, he appeared in 34 matches for Dunajska Streda, including Europa Conference League qualifiers. Known for his physical strength, passing ability, and game intelligence, Bajo plays as a defensive midfielder and is regarded as having significant development potential. His current market value is around 1 million euros.

Contact initiated for Vaclav Cerny

Another important target for Besiktas is 27-year-old Czech winger Vaclav Cerny, who caught attention with his performances against Fenerbahce while playing for Rangers.

Following the recent election victory, club president Serdal Adali and his management have intensified transfer activities. They aim to sign foreign players who can provide leadership on the pitch and play a key role in the team’s foundation. Cerny fits these criteria and is reportedly interested in joining Besiktas.

Cerny, who was on loan at Rangers last season and is officially a Wolfsburg player from the Bundesliga, is expected to become the subject of official transfer talks soon. This season, Cerny played 50 matches for Rangers, scoring 18 goals and providing eight assists. Besides his stats, he made a significant impact through his leadership on the field. He is known for his quickness over short distances, finishing ability, and long-range shooting.
