Italian Serie A side Cagliari have made an initial move to secure young forward Semih Kilicsoy on a permanent deal, but Besiktas have rejected the offer, according to reports.
Cagliari had brought Kilicsoy in on a loan deal at the start of the season, including a purchase option set at €12 million (over $14 million). This clause allows the Italian club to make the move permanent by paying the agreed fee at the end of the loan period.
However, recent developments suggest that Cagliari are attempting to renegotiate the terms. The club reportedly submitted a €6 million bid—half of the original option value, in an effort to secure a discount on the transfer.
Besiktas have turned down the revised offer, signaling that they are not willing to lower their expectations for the young attacker.
The Istanbul-based club are understood to be holding firm on the previously agreed €12 million clause, which remains valid if Cagliari choose to activate it.
Amid the ongoing uncertainty, Kilicsoy is expected to rejoin Besiktas for pre-season preparations. Reports indicate that he will take part in the club’s summer training camp and is being considered for the squad for the upcoming campaign under coach Yalcin.
At the same time, Besiktas are prepared to approve a permanent transfer if Cagliari decide to meet the full €12 million option, keeping the final outcome dependent on the Italian club’s next move.
