Fenerbahce defender Diego Carlos could return to Italy as the Istanbul club moves forward with plans to reshape its squad for the new season.

The Brazilian center-back is reportedly among the leading players who are not being considered by the technical staff, with two Italian clubs now looking to bring him in.

Como seek another loan spell

Como, where Diego Carlos spent last season on loan, are interested in taking the experienced defender back through another temporary agreement.

The Italian side is therefore looking to extend his stay without immediately signing him permanently.

Bologna push for permanent transfer

Bologna, coached by Domenico Tedesco, has also stepped up its interest but is pursuing a different arrangement.

While Como is seeking a loan deal, Bologna reportedly wants to sign Diego Carlos permanently by securing his registration rights from Fenerbahce.

The defender's future is expected to become clearer shortly as the two Italian clubs move ahead with their approaches.
