Fenerbahce have reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with Rafael Leao as the Istanbul club steps up its attempt to sign the A.C. Milan winger, according to Italian media reports.
Fenerbahce football department official Cihan Kamer has reportedly travelled to Italy to hold talks over the Portugal international, who has emerged as the club's next major target following the signing of Mason Greenwood.
Sportmediaset reported that Fenerbahce had offered Leao an annual salary of €12 million. Sportitalia also backed up the report, claiming that the Turkish club and the player had agreed on personal terms.
The reported agreement with Leao does not mean the transfer has been completed, as Fenerbahce must still work out a deal with Milan.
Fenerbahce are reportedly preparing to offer Milan a €5 million loan fee, followed by a compulsory purchase worth €35 million and an additional €2 million in performance-related bonuses.
The structure would allow Leao to initially join on loan before the transfer becomes permanent under the proposed agreement.
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio also reported that Galatasaray remained in the race for the Portuguese forward.
Galatasaray reportedly planned to use the €10 million made available following Mauro Icardi's departure to finance a move for Leao. However, the club was said to be seeking a loan agreement, while Milan preferred a permanent transfer.
