Fenerbahce are closing in on Mason Greenwood in what would become the most expensive transfer in the Turkish club's history, according to the report.
The Istanbul side are preparing a total package worth €42 million ($48.07 million), including bonuses, as they look to bring in Marseille's No. 10.
The 24-year-old English forward is expected to sign a four-year contract with Fenerbahce if the transfer goes through. His annual salary is reported to be €10 million, a figure that appears to have played a decisive role in the final stage of talks.
Atletico Madrid also put forward an attractive sporting project for Greenwood, but the former Manchester United player moved closer to Fenerbahce after weighing up the financial terms.
Greenwood joined Marseille from Manchester United in the summer of 2024, and that deal included a sell-on clause, meaning United kept the right to receive a share from a future transfer.
While Atletico Madrid tried to handle the process directly with Marseille, Fenerbahce followed a different route. The Turkish club first worked out Marseille's transfer share and then held talks with Manchester United to clarify how the overall fee would be distributed.
The total cost is reported at €42 million including bonuses. Manchester United's share is also covered within that figure. Marseille are expected to bring in around €30 million from the sale.
Greenwood's performances on the pitch were not presented as a problem for Marseille. However, the French club decided that a sale had become necessary because of financial reasons and the player's salary burden.
The report also said disappointment over his off-field conduct and daily performance during the season helped speed up the separation process. Marseille's new sporting director, Gregory Lorenzi, is said to be handling the transfer.
If completed at €42 million, Greenwood's move would become Fenerbahce's most expensive transfer.
The closest previous figure mentioned in the report was €28 million for Guendouzi.
