The board of Fenerbahce convened an emergency late-night meeting following the team’s 2–0 defeat to Fatih Karagumruk in the 26th round of the Super Lig, raising questions about the future of head coach Domenico Tedesco.
The match, played at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, saw the home side take the lead early. Midfielder Bartug Elmaz opened the scoring in the 15th minute following a corner-kick sequence.
Fatih Karagumruk doubled their advantage in first-half stoppage time when Serginho finished at the far post, sending the hosts into halftime with a comfortable 2–0 lead.
Despite increased pressure from Fenerbahce in the second half, the visitors were unable to reduce the deficit, and the match ended with a 2–0 victory for Karagumruk.
According to Turkish media outlet A Spor, Fenerbahce president Sadettin Saran and members of the club’s board held an urgent meeting at the stadium to evaluate the team’s performance and discuss its prospects for the remainder of the season.
Reports indicate that the discussion centered on the club’s recent form and its position in the Super Lig title race.
Following the meeting, speculation intensified regarding the future of head coach Domenico Tedesco. However, the club’s press spokesperson stated that no official decision has been made about Tedesco’s position and noted that a further statement may be issued in the coming days.
Another development that drew attention after the match involved winger Kerem Akturkoglu, who reportedly left the stadium separately from his teammates rather than boarding the team bus.
