Fenerbahce Opet wrapped up the 2025–2026 FIBA Women’s EuroLeague season by beating Galatasaray Cagdas Faktoring 68–55 in an all-Turkish final, securing their third title in Europe’s top-tier club competition.
The decisive game took place in Zaragoza, Spain, where the “Final Six” format brings together the continent’s top teams. Fenerbahce Opet, who had already booked their place in the semifinals, advanced to the final after seeing off Spain’s Spar Girona 76–59.
They then went on to close out the tournament with a controlled performance against domestic rivals Galatasaray, pulling away to win by 13 points and claim the title.
With this result, Fenerbahce Opet lifted the EuroLeague trophy for the third time, having previously gone back-to-back in the 2022–2023 and 2023–2024 seasons.
The European title capped off a near-perfect campaign, as Fenerbahce Opet lost just once in 16 EuroLeague games. Their dominance was not limited to continental competition, as they also swept through domestic tournaments.
The team finished the Turkish Women’s Basketball Super League season unbeaten, while also picking up the Turkish Cup and the Presidential Cup. By adding the EuroLeague trophy, they completed a four-title sweep for the season.
Fenerbahce Opet have now won three EuroLeague titles from seven finals, underlining their sustained presence at the top level of women’s club basketball in Europe.
While they had previously fallen short in several finals and secured podium finishes in other seasons, recent years have seen them turn consistent appearances into titles, reinforcing their position among the continent’s leading teams.
Head coach Miguel Mendez extended his own record in the competition, winning the EuroLeague for the fourth time in his career.
He had previously claimed three consecutive titles with UMMC Ekaterinburg and has now guided Fenerbahce Opet to the top, adding another milestone to his coaching resume across multiple European leagues and competitions.
Fenerbahce’s latest triumph also marked a broader milestone for Turkish women’s basketball, which has now reached 10 European club titles across different competitions.
Fenerbahce accounts for half of those wins, while Galatasaray, Yakin Dogu Universitesi, and CBK Mersin have also contributed to the country’s presence on the European stage.
