Fenerbahce completed another high-profile transfer Tuesday, announcing the loan signing of Mexican defensive midfielder Edson Alvarez from West Ham United, with an option to buy.
Alvarez, 27, arrived in Istanbul to finalize medical checks and contract discussions.
The Premier League club had acquired Alvarez from Ajax two years ago for €38 million ($44.11 million). During his 73 appearances for West Ham, he scored two goals and provided three assists. His current market value is estimated at €25 million, with the loan agreement including a purchase option of €22 million.
Fenerbahce, which has already added Jhon Duran, Archie Brown, Tarik Cetin, Abdou Aziz Fall, Nelsen Somedo, Dorgeles Nene, and Milan Skriniar this transfer window, now marks Alvarez as its eighth new addition.

We inform the public accordingly.”
Alvarez arrived in Istanbul aboard a private plane from London, accompanied by his family, and was greeted by Fenerbahce Football Director Devin Ozek at Ataturk Airport’s General Aviation Terminal.
