Fenerbahce’s newly appointed sporting director, Devin Ozek, has set his sights on Noa Lang, the 25-year-old Dutch winger who played a pivotal role in PSV’s recent league title.
Lang is being considered as a replacement for Allan Saint-Maximin, who is leaving the club. Notably, Lang briefly played in Besiktas’ youth academy in 2009.
Ozek is working to build a strong squad to compete for the championship next season.
Lang has three years remaining on his contract with PSV and carries a market value of approximately €25 million. The 25-year-old fits the profile preferred by Fenerbahce’s head coach, Jose Mourinho, known for valuing fast and technical players. Fenerbahce has reportedly opened communication with PSV to discuss a potential transfer.
Fenerbahce is not alone in pursuing Lang. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli, under coach Antonio Conte, has also entered the race to sign the winger. Marseille is reportedly monitoring the player as well.
Fenerbahce is expected to negotiate with PSV executives in the coming week.
Meanwhile, Galatasaray is reportedly interested in Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane. Fenerbahce has made the best offer for Sane, who is a free agent, and German media say he will soon decide his next club.
Lang’s ties to Turkish football run deep. After his parents separated, his mother married Moroccan footballer Nourdin Boukhari. In 2009, Lang moved to Istanbul, joining Kasimpasa and later becoming part of Besiktas’ youth setup. However, his time at Besiktas was brief following Boukhari’s short stint at Kasimpasa.
