Galatasaray has moved within touching distance of the 2025-2026 Trendyol Super Lig title and could mathematically secure the championship as early as next week, regardless of their closest rivals’ results.
The Istanbul side strengthened their position at the top of the table after defeating second-placed Fenerbahce 3-0 at RAMS Park in a decisive derby clash. Goals from Victor Osimhen, Baris Alper Yilmaz and Lucas Torreira helped Galatasaray extend their lead and take firm control of the title race.
Following this result, Galatasaray increased its points tally to 74, opening up a seven-point gap over Fenerbahce. At the same time, the margin over Trabzonspor widened further after the Black Sea club suffered a 2-1 away defeat to Konyaspor, leaving it nine points behind with a game in hand.
With just three matches remaining in the season, Galatasaray now only needs a single victory to secure the title. If it defeats Samsunspor away in the 32nd week fixture on May 2, it will be crowned champions with two games still left to play.
This outcome would make any results from Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor irrelevant, as the points gap would become unassailable.
Galatasaray is now closing in on what would be its 26th Super Lig title, continuing a strong run that has seen the team build momentum in recent weeks. The team has won four consecutive matches in the league, reinforcing its dominance at a crucial stage of the season.
As the campaign heads into its final stretch, all eyes are now on the Samsunspor fixture, where a win would officially wrap up the championship race.
