Galatasaray club doctor Yener Ince said Victor Osimhen's operation was successful and that the striker's recovery will now be followed on a day-by-day basis, while Noa Lang is set to miss the Netherlands national team's first upcoming match after undergoing surgery in Liverpool.
In his statement on Galatasaray's official website, Ince first set out the latest on Lang, saying the Dutch winger suffered a serious injury to the first finger of his right hand. He also moved to clear up reports around the extent of the damage, saying the finger was not fully severed, although the injury itself was serious.
Because the area needed to be repaired without delay, Lang was operated on in Liverpool instead of being brought back to Istanbul first. Ince said the procedure was carried out successfully and that no immediate problem had appeared after surgery, while Galatasaray's medical team continues to follow the player closely.
He added that the club has remained in close contact with the medical staff of the Netherlands national team, with whom it has had strong communication for a long time. According to Ince, Lang will not play in the Dutch side's first match, and a return for the second game will depend on further assessments and whether conditions develop in a suitable way.
Ince said Lang is expected to go through a special training program as Galatasaray aims to bring him back as soon as possible. His remarks pointed to a carefully managed recovery process rather than a fixed return date, with the next step to be shaped by upcoming evaluations.
Turning to Osimhen, Ince said the Nigerian forward also underwent surgery on Tuesday and that the operation was successful. He said the player's condition would be monitored day by day and stressed that the club's medical staff would do what is necessary to help him return to the pitch as soon as possible.
He also said Galatasaray would continue to share updated information with the public as the process moves forward.
