Galatasaray has made a decisive move regarding star striker Mauro Icardi, who joined the team’s preseason camp later than scheduled due to personal reasons.
According to reports from Argentina, the club has decided not to grant the Argentine forward any further special leave—a decision that could prevent him from seeing his children.
Icardi, who suffered a long-term injury last season, had already been in the spotlight for both his on-pitch performances and off-field issues. Following his divorce from Wanda Nara, the 31-year-old has been engaged in a legal battle over custody of their children.
His delayed arrival at the summer training camp was reportedly due to ongoing legal procedures in Argentina.
Citing journalist Guido Zaffora, the Argentine press reported that Icardi, who has yet to complete a full recovery program, has been informed that the club does not intend to approve further personal leave during the season.
In response, Icardi’s legal team took immediate action. Since the children are currently living with their mother, Wanda Nara, in Argentina, his lawyers have filed a request with the prosecutor's office, seeking permission for the two daughters to travel to Istanbul unaccompanied.
According to the reports, Icardi deeply misses his children and is determined to see them. His legal team has assured the court that all necessary precautions will be taken to ensure the girls' safety during their trip.
