Mauro Icardi's future at Galatasaray remains unclear as the Argentine striker's contract with the Turkish club expires today, with no agreement yet reached over a possible extension.
Icardi joined Galatasaray on a three-season deal before the 2023-24 campaign. That agreement runs out on June 30, putting the forward among several players whose contracts end on the same date.
Galatasaray has not yet reached a new deal with Icardi, and it has been learned that the club is not currently planning to sign a fresh contract with the experienced striker.
However, Icardi and his representative held a meeting with club president Dursun Ozbek. During the meeting, Galatasaray reportedly presented an offer worth €4+1 million to him. The figure represents a base salary of €4 million (over $4.5 million) with the potential to earn an additional €1 million in performance-related bonuses.
Icardi has not yet given his answer to the club. His position, therefore, remains unresolved on the final day of his current contract.
The uncertainty leaves Galatasaray waiting for a response as the striker's existing deal formally comes to an end.
