Turkish giants Galatasaray are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Manchester City’s Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson, local media reported Wednesday.
Following the departure of long-time shot-stopper Fernando Muslera, Galatasaray have accelerated efforts to secure a high-profile replacement. According to Milliyet newspaper, the Istanbul club has reached a verbal agreement with Ederson on a three-year deal worth €7.5 million ($8.78 million) per season, including performance-related bonuses.
Negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing. Manchester City initially demanded £10 million ($13.45 million) for the 30-year-old keeper, but have since lowered their asking price to around £7 million, the report said. Galatasaray, for their part, are said to have offered £5 million.
Ederson, who joined City from Benfica in 2017, has won multiple Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League under Pep Guardiola. He is seen as one of the top goalkeepers in Europe.
Galatasaray is also making headlines in the transfer market with reported moves for Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
