Premier League star Heung-Min Son has officially announced his departure from Tottenham Hotspur after 10 seasons—and Fenerbahce from Türkiye is already emerging as a top contender for his signature.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference ahead of Tottenham’s friendly against Newcastle United, 33-year-old South Korean winger Heung-Min Son confirmed he has decided to leave the club:
“This is the hardest decision of my career. I need to push myself in a different environment. Ten years is a long time. I arrived in North London at 23, and now I leave as a proud man.”
Multiple sources in Türkiye suggest Fenerbahce has been monitoring Son’s contract status for several months. With a current market value of €20 million ($23,18 million), the experienced forward is seen as a perfect high-profile signing for the Turkish giants, who are preparing for UEFA competition this season.

Son expressed gratitude to Tottenham fans:
“I’ve always felt the love from the supporters. I hope this is the right moment to say goodbye, and I trust people will understand and respect it.”
Signed from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015 for a €30 million fee, Son scored over 150 goals for Tottenham. His crowning achievement came in the 2024–25 season, when the team lifted the UEFA Europa League title.
