Turkish basketball is making headlines in Europe as three clubs, Bahcesehir Koleji, Besiktas GAIN, and Turk Telekom, have all advanced to the semifinals of the 2025–26 Basketbol BKT Europe Cup.
For the first time in the tournament’s history, three Turkish teams will compete in the final four, guaranteeing that at least one Turkish club will feature in the championship match and potentially secure a coveted EuroLeague berth.
The semi-final line-up ensures that a Turkish team will reach the final:
Turk Telekom vs Cosea JL Bourg-en-Bresse
Turk Telekom earned its semi-final spot after a thrilling 91–90 victory over Israel’s Hapoel Midtown, capped by Kyle Allman’s last-second three-pointer. In the semi-finals, they will face French side Cosea JL Bourg-en-Bresse, who hold home-court advantage.
Besiktas GAIN finished the regular season unbeaten at home and led Group B with a 13–5 record. In the quarter-finals, they narrowly defeated Italian side Dolomiti Energia 77–76, marking their second semi-final appearance in the Europe Cup under head coach Dusan Alimpijevic.
Bahcesehir Koleji closed the group stage in second place with a 12–6 record and eliminated Romania’s U-BT Cluj-Napoca 75–72 in the quarter-finals, reaching the semi-finals for the second consecutive season.
Turk Telekom’s quarterfinal win was decided in the final second, with Kyle Allman’s performance earning him the Quarterfinals MVP after 25 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 assists.
This victory marked the club’s return to the semi-finals since the 2022–23 season.
The 2025–26 BKT EuroCup champion will earn a direct EuroLeague spot, Europe’s top-tier club competition.
Should Bahcesehir Koleji, Besiktas, or Turk Telekom claim the title, it will be the first time since 2018–19 that three Turkish teams compete in the EuroLeague.
Previously, Galatasaray (2015–16) and Darussafaka (2017–18) won the Europe Cup, while Bursaspor (2021–22) and Turk Telekom (2022–23) finished as runners-up.
