Lautaro Martinez set the tone for Inter by scoring in the opening minute, and he struck again early in the second half to help the hosts take control. Hakan Calhanoglu then added Inter's third goal in first-half stoppage time, putting his side in a strong position before the break.
Marcus Thuram and Nicolo Barella also got on the scoresheet as Inter kept pressing and turned the match into a clear win.
Roma stayed in the game for stretches and found the net through Gianluca Mancini in the 40th minute and Lorenzo Pellegrini in the 70th minute, but the visitors could not keep up with Inter's attacking pace.
As the match opened up, Inter continued to push forward and saw out the game with a three-goal margin.
For Inter, Calhanoglu played 67 minutes and marked his performance with a goal. On the Roma side, Turkish defender Zeki Celik stayed on the field for the full 90 minutes.
With the result, Inter moved to 72 points at the top of the standings, while Roma remained on 54 points.
