Former Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi is reportedly preparing for a reunion with the Istanbul club after Turkish media reported that presidential candidate Aziz Yildirim had reached a preliminary agreement with the Kosovo international ahead of the club's election.
The 32-year-old enjoyed a prolific season despite Mallorca's relegation from La Liga, scoring 23 goals and providing one assist in 37 appearances, finishing just behind Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe, who scored 25 goals.
Muriqi, who previously played for Fenerbahce during the 2019-20 campaign before securing a €21 million ($24.4 million) move to Lazio, is currently at Mallorca after spells in Italy and Spain. Reports suggest Mallorca has set an asking price of €18 million for the Kosovo striker.
Reports also claimed that archrival Galatasaray approached the striker in a bid to bolster its attacking options, but Muriqi turned down the offer, Turkish news outlet hurriyet.com.tr reported.
Yildirim is also pursuing Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy, who reportedly accepted the proposal presented by the former Fenerbahce president and is now waiting for the outcome of the club election.
Dortmund is believed to be seeking €35 million for the Guinea international, while Yildirim's camp has reportedly tabled an offer close to that figure, increasing the chances of a potential agreement.
Guirassy made 46 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring 22 goals and contributing six assists.
The moves come as Fenerbahce prepares for a crucial presidential vote that could shape both the club's leadership and its summer recruitment strategy, as the Istanbul side looks to end a 12-year Turkish Super Lig title drought.
Yildirim, who led the club for two decades between 1998 and 2018 and won six Turkish Super Lig titles during his tenure, is seeking a return to the presidency in a race against former Fenerbahce board member Hakan Safi.
The election will take place on June 6-7, as members prepare to decide who will guide the club into the 2026-27 campaign.
