French midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu, who is in transfer talks with Galatasaray, arrived in Istanbul as the Turkish club moved closer to completing the process.
The 22-year-old landed at Ataturk Airport General Aviation Terminal, a section used for private and special flights, where Galatasaray board member Abdullah Kavukcu and a small group of supporters welcomed him.
Ugochukwu posed for cameras with a Galatasaray scarf after touching down in Istanbul. The young midfielder said he was very happy and excited, as the club continued to work through the remaining stages of the transfer.
He is expected to go through further talks and medical checks in Istanbul before signing an official contract.
Ugochukwu came through the academy of French club Rennes before moving on to play for English sides Chelsea, Southampton and Burnley.
Last season, he made 38 appearances for Burnley and scored 3 goals, adding regular match experience before he arrived in Istanbul for talks with Galatasaray.
