Lille came from behind to secure a 2-1 away win against Marseille in France’s Ligue 1, but the victory was overshadowed by an injury to Turkish international goalkeeper Berke Ozer, who had to leave the pitch before halftime.
Marseille looked set to take control of the match as they went ahead just before the break, with Ethan Nwaneri finding the net in the 43rd minute and sending the home side into halftime with a 1-0 lead.
However, Lille stepped up their performance after the restart and quickly got back into the game. Thomas Meunier leveled the score in the 49th minute, shifting the momentum in favor of the visitors. As the match edged toward its conclusion, Lille managed to pull off a late turnaround, with Olivier Giroud scoring the decisive goal in the 86th minute to seal a 2-1 win.
Despite the comeback, Lille faced a setback involving their Turkish goalkeeper Berke Ozer. The injury occurred late in the first half following a collision with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Although Ozer initially tried to carry on after receiving treatment on the pitch, he was eventually unable to continue as his discomfort increased. He went down again and was substituted in stoppage time of the first half, with Bodart stepping in as his replacement.
While Lille walked away with three points after coming from behind, the focus also shifted to Ozer’s condition, as the goalkeeper’s early exit added uncertainty to an otherwise strong away performance.
