Portuguese club Porto has strongly denied recent comments made by Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk regarding goalkeeper Diogo Costa.
Reports from Portugal confirm that Porto even sent an official letter to the Türkiye giants expressing their dissatisfaction.
Okan Buruk had stated that Porto demanded €45 million ($52,89 million) for Diogo Costa.
However, according to A Bola, Porto described this claim as false and damaging to the club’s reputation.
The Portuguese side underlined that Costa’s release clause is set at €75 million, not €45 million.
Porto’s management formally contacted Galatasaray, stressing that Buruk’s words misrepresented both the club and the player.
The letter demanded that misleading information should not circulate further.
As Galatasaray continues its search for a new goalkeeper, Diogo Costa has been linked as a possible target.
The denial from Porto, however, makes it clear that any negotiations will only start at the official release clause amount.
