Tottenham is reportedly weighing up a £50 million-£55 million offer for Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, although the Turkish club is said to be holding out for a fee close to £65 million.
According to CaughtOffside, the London club has received internal sporting approval to move forward with potential negotiations and believes that reaching an agreement with Osimhen over personal terms would not present a major obstacle.
Tottenham has reportedly made preliminary approaches based on a valuation of between £50 million and £55 million, while Galatasaray is seeking a figure closer to £65 million.
However, no official bid or direct negotiations have taken place between the two clubs so far.
Tottenham has already invested heavily in its squad, and the report suggested that taking on another major financial commitment could prove difficult unless the club first moves on some important players.
Tottenham is the latest English club to be linked with Osimhen after previous interest from Chelsea and Manchester United failed to lead to a transfer.
The Nigerian striker has played a key role in Galatasaray’s last two championship-winning campaigns, recording 41 goals and 10 assists in 52 appearances for the club.
Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle previously described Osimhen as “the best striker in the world.”
