Trabzonspor lifted the Turkish Cup for the 10th time on Friday after edging TUMOSAN Konyaspor 2-1 in the final, ending a two-year run of failed title bids and securing its place in next season’s UEFA Europa League.

The win also finalized the list of Turkish clubs set to compete in UEFA competitions next season, with Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, Trabzonspor, Besiktas and RAMS Basaksehir all securing European spots.

Onuachu fires Trabzonspor

Trabzonspor struck first in the 17th minute as Paul Onuachu turned in Pina’s cross from close range. Konyaspor responded after the break through Muleka, who converted on the rebound after his header hit the post in the 50th minute.

The Konya side then missed a chance to go ahead when Enis Bardhi struck the post from the penalty spot in the 58th minute, before goalkeeper Onana denied Muleka on the rebound.

Trabzonspor restored its lead late on after a penalty was awarded for handball inside the area. Onuachu converted in the 79th minute to seal the trophy for the Black Sea club.

The win gave Trabzonspor its 10th Turkish Cup title after losing the previous two finals to Besiktas and Galatasaray.
