Turkish national team player Salih Ozcan was among the players to bid an emotional farewell as Borussia Dortmund defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 3-2 in their Bundesliga match on matchday 33.
The result secured Dortmund’s second-place finish in the Bundesliga, but attention after the final whistle focused on emotional scenes involving Ozcan, Niklas Sule, and Julian Brandt.
The trio approached the stands at Signal Iduna Park to thank supporters, marking their expected departures from the club.
Ozcan, who came on in the 78th minute, made his final appearance for Dortmund as he said farewell to fans and teammates following the match.
The club later acknowledged the departures on its official social media channels, sharing an image of the three players with the message “A fitting farewell,” confirming their exit from the squad.
Earlier in the match, Eintracht Frankfurt took an early lead through Turkish forward Can Uzun, who scored in the second minute.
Dortmund, however, responded strongly to complete a comeback victory and claim all three points.
