Türkiye’s top football division, the Super Lig, is in the midst of one of its most expensive summer transfer windows in history. With the market officially closing on Sept. 12, clubs have already committed huge sums to reinforce their squads.
The league has seen some of its most expensive signings in history, reshaping the competitive balance between Istanbul giants and other contenders.
Galatasaray captured headlines with the most spectacular move of the window, signing Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli for €75 million ($87 million).
The Istanbul side also added Turkish goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir from Trabzonspor in a deal worth €33 million, strengthening its domestic core.
Another major investment came in the form of Ivorian defender Wilfried Singo, arriving from Monaco for €30 million.
Fenerbahce’s strategy focused on balancing creativity and defensive strength. Turkish international Kerem Akturkoglu returned from Benfica for €22.5 million, adding pace and flair on the wing.
The club also signed rising Malian forward Dorgeles Nene from Leipzig for €18 million. In midfield, Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat joined from Fiorentina for €12 million, while young English talent Archie Brown arrived from Gent for €8 million.
Spanish playmaker Marco Asensio, moving from Paris Saint-Germain, added further star power at €7.5 million.
Besiktas has strengthened its squad with the signing of Czech winger Vaclav Cerny. The Istanbul club will pay a transfer fee of €7 million, structured in installments over the next three years.
Following his medical examination in Istanbul, Cerny is set to sign a three-year contract with an optional fourth year. The deal comes after reported interest from several European clubs, including Hamburg, but the 27-year-old player opted to continue his career in Türkiye with Besiktas.
Besiktas turned to the Premier League, signing Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester City for €8 million.
Galatasaray, meanwhile, reinforced its defense with Senegalese full-back Ismail Jabobs from Monaco for €8 million, complementing its earlier high-profile deals.
With the window still open until mid-September, the financial commitment already signals one of the most expensive summers in Super Lig history.
