The Türkiye Women's National Football Team lost 3-1 to the Switzerland Women's National Team in their third match of the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup European Qualifiers, Group B League 2.
According to a statement from the Turkish Football Federation, the match was played at Letzigrund Stadium, where the home side built its advantage through efficient finishing.
Switzerland’s goals came from Aurelie Csillag, who scored twice, and Viola Calligaris, as the hosts managed to turn possession into a decisive lead. Türkiye, despite finding a response, was unable to close the gap as the game progressed.
Türkiye’s only goal came from Ebru Topcu, who managed to pull one back for the visitors.
However, the effort was not enough to shift the overall balance of the match, as Switzerland maintained control through the remainder of the game.
The two sides are set to face each other again in a short turnaround. Türkiye will host Switzerland in the fourth group match on April 18 at 7:00 p.m. Turkish local time at Sinop City Stadium.
