Türkiye lost 71-67 to Italy in its third and final Group A game at the FIBA U20 Men's European Championship, finishing third in the group and setting up a last-16 meeting with Lithuania.
The game took place at Stozice Arena in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Lithuania moved into the knockout matchup after finishing second in Group B.
Italy took control early and built up a 27-12 lead by the end of the opening quarter. Türkiye began to cut into the deficit before halftime but still went into the break trailing 41-29.
The national team continued to work its way back into the contest during the third quarter, which ended with Italy holding a 53-45 advantage.
Türkiye pulled level during the final period after gradually closing the gap, but Italy held on in the closing stages to wrap up a 71-67 victory.
With the group stage now completed, Türkiye will next take on Group B runners-up Lithuania in the round of 16.
