Türkiye’s judokas come away with 10 medals in Malaga European Cup

Türkiye’s national judo team secured 10 medals at the European Cup event held in Malaga, Spain, finishing with four gold, three silver and three bronze medals.

Champions across key weight categories

Buketnur Karabulut (women’s 52 kg), Ayten Mediha Yeksan (women’s 63 kg), Mihrac Akkus (men’s 60 kg) and Muhammed Koc (men’s 81 kg) reached the top of the podium. In judo, weight categories are competition divisions set by an athlete’s body mass to ensure fair matchups.

Silver medals underline depth

Tugce Beder (women’s 48 kg), Ozlem Yildiz (women’s 63 kg), and Omer Aydin (men’s 90 kg) added silver medals, reinforcing Türkiye’s consistency across the women’s and men’s brackets.

Bronze finishes round out podiums

Minel Akdeniz (women’s 63 kg), Muhammed Ali Demirel (men’s 66 kg) and Munir Ertug (men’s over 100 kg) completed the tally with bronze, as the team closed out the Malaga leg with multiple podiums across light, middle and heavyweight divisions.
