As Türkiye returns to the FIFA World Cup stage, Istanbul is preparing to bring match-day excitement out into the streets, parks, waterfronts and cultural venues.
The national team’s group-stage matches will be played in the early morning hours in Türkiye, making public screenings a practical option for fans who want to watch the games in a shared atmosphere rather than at home.
Türkiye’s first group match will be against Australia on June 14 at 7 a.m. local time. The team will then face Paraguay on June 20 at 6 a.m., before taking on the United States on June 26 at 5 a.m.
Several municipalities, cultural venues and private event spaces in Istanbul are arranging large screens, fan zones and early opening hours for the matches.
Yedikule Fortress in Fatih will offer one of the most atmospheric viewing experiences in the city.
The historic fortress setting will host large-screen match screenings organized by Fatih Municipality. Entry is free and open to the public, while soup will be served to visitors.
The venue is expected to open around 30 minutes before national matches, and fans are advised to arrive early because of possible crowds. Visitors are also encouraged to bring camping chairs.
Another historic option is the Sepetciler Pavilion in Eminonu, where Yesilay will host a free public viewing event with a Bosphorus view. The area will open around 30 minutes before the matches, and no reservation is required.
After the screening, visitors may also join a bicycle tour organized by Yesilay, which is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
In Beykoz, the On Cesmeler area near the historic Ishak Aga Fountain will combine a local neighborhood atmosphere with a Bosphorus-side setting. The area is expected to offer free entry, while soup, simit and tea will be served for early arrivals.
Eminonu Square, organized by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, is expected to become one of the city’s largest free fan zones. Large screens and sound systems will turn the historic district into a public match-viewing area throughout the tournament.
On the Asian side, Uskudar coast will provide a waterfront option with Bosphorus views, free entry and no reservation requirement. Soup, tea and simit will be offered during early-morning national match screenings.

Zorlu PSM Vestel Amfi in Zincirlikuyu will provide a more organized open-air viewing experience with a large high-resolution screen and professional sound system.

DasDas in Atasehir will screen matches in its courtyard, offering a cultural venue atmosphere with table seating. Entry is free, but visitors are advised to make a reservation in advance because of the seated layout.
DEKK in Etiler, located on Akmerkez’s open-air terrace, will offer a central and modern terrace setting for match screenings. Entry is free, but food and drink purchases inside the area are paid. Because capacity is limited, early arrival is recommended for major games.

Turkcell Platinum Park Astra Lumina in Ayazaga will offer a paid “sunrise watch party” concept in a forest setting.
