A crystal mosaic artwork created by women trainees at the Mus Public Education Center has gained international attention after reaching Nigerian football star Victor Osimhen.
The footballer’s appreciation of the piece as one of the most meaningful gifts he has received brought great pride to the women who dedicated their efforts to creating it.
The artwork was produced by participants of the jewelry-making and crystal-mosaic course at the center. Designed with thousands of carefully placed mosaic pieces, the 72,000-piece creation features a portrait of Osimhen’s mother, along with a special composition depicting the bond between the footballer and his mother.
The project was led by course instructor Sumeyye Aydin, who explained that the idea emerged after she and her students were inspired by Osimhen’s emotional connection to tributes made in his honor.
The group decided to prepare a meaningful gift for the player, particularly to mark Mother’s Day, with the aim of conveying appreciation and support.
The artwork was presented to Osimhen during a Samsunspor match. The footballer reportedly expressed his gratitude after receiving the gift and provided his signature for a future project.
The gesture gained further recognition when Osimhen later spoke about the artwork during an interview in Nigeria, referring to it as one of the most significant gifts he had received.
His comments created a sense of achievement among the Mus women, whose handmade work had reached an international audience.
Following the success of the first project, the course participants have begun preparing a new mosaic artwork dedicated to Osimhen.
The upcoming piece will feature the footballer’s portrait and the celebration moment following his goal against Fenerbahçe. The women hope to present the new artwork to Osimhen at Galatasaray Stadium with the support of the club.
