Ankara Firefighter Cebrail Sarsilmaz married Sinem Kaynak, whom he rescued from under the rubble of Mujde Apartment in Kahramanmaras during Türkiye's catastrophic earthquakes on February 6, 2023.
Sharing that he rescued his wife and brother alive from the rubble in Kahramanmaras, Sarsilmaz said: "It is a different and indescribable feeling. We had such a happy ending from a tragic event."
Kaynak also expressed her feelings. "Although we came together as a result of a negative event, we were the lucky few who were pulled out of the rubble," she shared.
"Afterward, life brought us together. Though we carry a bitter sadness for our losses and the losses of others, life goes on, and we are happy," she concluded.
