Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan welcomed the cease-fire agreement between Israel and Lebanon that came into effect on Wednesday morning.

Türkiye is ready to contribute in every way to stop the ongoing massacre in Gaza and establish a permanent cease-fire, the Turkish president asserted during his address at the Justice and Development Party meeting.

‘World is experiencing pains of new and radical change’

“The world is experiencing the pains of being on the brink of new and radical change. Our region is burning in the vortex of war and oppression. In such a climate as the Republican Alliance, we face a historic responsibility. We are struggling to preserve our stability and economy,” President Erdogan commented on the ongoing tensions.

“We are working tirelessly for peace and stability, not only in our region but across the world. Türkiye is steadily strengthening its position as a key player in global politics,” President Erdogan added.

Türkiye ready to play its part in achieving Gaza cease-fire

Türkiye expects all parties, “especially Israel,” to fulfill their responsibilities to maintain calm on the ground, the president said.

President Erdogan stated that Türkiye is working hard to resolve all crises, including the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine and the 14-month-long Gaza conflict.

He expressed satisfaction with the Israeli-Lebanese cease-fire and emphasized that Türkiye is ready to contribute to achieving a permanent cease-fire in Gaza.
