Türkiye's Izmir-led operation against the Daesh terrorist group across 13 provinces resulted in the detention of 27 suspects.
As part of ongoing investigations by the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Counterterrorism Crimes Bureau, authorities conducted a large-scale operation targeting the terrorist organization Daesh. The operation focused on preventing the financing of terrorism. Arrest warrants were issued for 30 suspects.
The operation against Daesh was launched from Izmir and simultaneously carried out in 12 other provinces, including Ankara, Sakarya, Kocaeli, Istanbul, Erzincan, Konya, Malatya, Mardin, Eskisehir, Bitlis, Gaziantep and Adana. Authorities confirmed that 27 suspects were detained during the raids.
Three individuals remain at large, and efforts to apprehend them are ongoing, according to the officials.
