In a shocking incident in Mersin, Aybeniz Top, a 24-year-old mother of one, was murdered by her 'religiously wedded' partner, Hasan F., who had recently appeared on a TV program claiming she was missing. The tragic event occurred in the Akbelen neighborhood of Toroslar district.

Authorities report that the couple argued over financial matters before Hasan F. allegedly strangled Aybeniz Top with a scarf. Police were alerted, and her body was transported to the morgue of Mersin University Faculty of Medicine for autopsy.

The suspect was apprehended at a bus terminal while attempting to flee. Initial investigations revealed Hasan F. had a criminal record and had taken out loans under the victim's name.

TV appearance unmasks truth

Last month, Hasan F. appeared on a television program in Istanbul, claiming Top was missing. He alleged she had been abducted and was being held against her will. However, during the broadcast, Aybeniz Top confronted him, disclosing that she had separated from him due to domestic violence and had previously divorced her first husband.

After the program, the couple reconciled and moved to Top's late father's vacant home in Mersin, where the murder occurred.

Victim laid to rest amid tears

Aybeniz Top was laid to rest at Guneykent Cemetery following her autopsy. Relatives, devastated by her untimely death, attended the funeral, shedding tears for the young mother whose life was tragically cut short.

Disturbing details about suspect

Hasan F., who was taken into custody at the Mersin bus terminal, has been remanded in custody following a court appearance. His previous claims about Top on the TV show, including her being missing and abducted, were exposed as false. Aybeniz Top had publicly accused him of violence during her appearance on the program.

Authorities confirmed that after their reconciliation, the couple had been living in Top’s late father's home, where the horrific crime took place.
