Türkiye welcomes Armenia's decision to recognize the state of Palestine on Friday, as stated by the country's Foreign Ministry.

"We welcome Armenia’s decision to recognize the State of Palestine, following countries such as Spain, Ireland, Norway, and Slovenia," the ministry's statement affirmed.

Highlighting the significance of recognizing Palestine for international law, justice, and conscience, the statement emphasized Türkiye's ongoing efforts to encourage more countries to recognize Palestine.

Armenia had announced earlier on Friday that it recognizes the State of Palestine, underscoring its commitment to international law, sovereignty, and peaceful coexistence among peoples, according to a statement from the Armenian Foreign Ministry.

The Armenian ministry also reiterated Armenia's support for U.N. General Assembly resolutions advocating an immediate cease-fire in the Gaza Strip, condemning Israeli actions targeting civilian infrastructure and violence against the civilian population.
