Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended an official diplomatic reception hosted by U.S. President Donald Trump late Tuesday at the Lotte New York Palace in Manhattan on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The reception, held at the hotel on Madison Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, brought together visiting heads of state, government delegations and accompanying spouses taking part in the General Debate high-level week.
Trump hosted the gathering in honor of delegates attending the U.N. General Assembly.
Organizers held the reception entirely closed to the press.
Officials did not immediately release details about bilateral discussions, remarks by attendees or a full guest roster.
The annual reception serves as a traditional host-nation engagement for visiting world leaders during the opening days of the U.N. General Assembly's General Debate.
Earlier Tuesday, Erdogan participated in a meeting on Iran hosted by Trump at U.N. Headquarters.
The meeting included leaders of Gulf Cooperation Council states as well as leaders and foreign ministers from Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Egypt, Syria, Iraq and Lebanon.
