Technical-level talks between Iran and the United States will resume next week after a temporary pause, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry said Wednesday, following discussions in Switzerland aimed at supporting a final peace deal within 60 days.

"The technical talks will resume next week. This is a temporary break and the talks will continue," Foreign Ministry spokesman Tahir Andrabi told reporters in Islamabad.

Pakistan's Foreign Office said the talks are expected to resume next Tuesday, June 30.

Andrabi said the next round would follow hourslong discussions between Iranian and U.S. representatives in Burgenstock, Switzerland, on Monday.

Pakistan, Qatar to continue mediation work

Andrabi said technical teams from Pakistan and Qatar, the mediating countries, will continue working with their U.S. and Iranian counterparts in the coming weeks.

He said the teams would support the implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, which is aimed at reaching a final peace deal within 60 days.

The Islamabad MoU was signed last week by the U.S. and Iranian presidents.

Andrabi said the memorandum and the subsequent Switzerland summit underlined the importance of dialogue and diplomacy as effective tools for resolving disputes and reducing tensions.

Four working groups agreed in Switzerland

Technical talks between Iran and the United States concluded in Switzerland on Tuesday, with the two sides agreeing to establish four working groups to advance negotiations on nuclear issues, sanctions and economic cooperation, according to Iranian state media.

Iran's IRNA news agency reported that the working groups will focus on sanctions termination, nuclear affairs, reconstruction and economic development, as well as monitoring and implementation.

The report cited Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi.

The move marked the clearest outcome of the latest round of negotiations, which seek to build on an interim agreement reached last week and prepare the ground for a broader settlement within 60 days.

Talks follow Islamabad understanding

The technical-level talks are part of efforts to implement the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding between Iran and the United States.

The discussions are expected to continue with the involvement of mediating countries, such as Washington and Tehran work toward a final agreement.

Pakistan said the temporary pause would not stop the process and that the talks would continue early next week.
