Italian defense minister hospitalized for suspected pericarditis

Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto is under treatment in Rome with suspected pericarditis after experiencing severe chest pains

Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto Tuesday was hospitalized in Rome overnight with suspected pericarditis.

Crosetto, 60, experienced severe chest pains and walked to the emergency room at San Carlo di Nancy Hospital. ,

While he was said to be “in perfect shape,” health checks were ongoing. 

The minister underwent monitoring and a heart colonography.  Although there were initial concerns, he could be discharged later.

Pericarditis involves inflammation of the pericardium, the thin sac surrounding the heart, and symptoms may include chest pain
