Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart for an official state visit to Türkiye on Monday to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation across multiple sectors, the Nigerian presidency announced on X.
The visit will focus on cooperation in areas including security, education, social development, innovation and aviation, according to a statement from the Nigerian presidency.
Strategic talks on finance, communications, trade and investment between the two countries are expected during the visit.
Meetings between high-ranking officials of both nations will be held during the visit. Memorandums of understanding are expected to be signed in scientific research, energy, technical cooperation, media and communications, military cooperation and protocol.
Both countries will engage in strategic political and diplomatic discussions on shared values in finance, communication, trade and investment, the presidency said.
A business forum will bring together investors from both countries to explore areas of interest during Tinubu's visit.
The visit follows President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's official visit to Nigeria from Oct. 19-20, 2021.
