U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday that finance ministers and central bank governors from G20 economies held “very productive and positive conversations” during a two-day meeting in Asheville, North Carolina.

The Aug. 31-Sept. 1 gathering was held as part of the U.S. presidency of the G20 in 2026.

“Very productive and positive conversations were had today at the G20 Finance Ministers Meeting in Asheville,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

He also praised Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, saying he was “doing a fantastic job representing the U.S.A.”

Trump urges other countries to follow US policies

Trump said other countries should adopt policies that he argued have supported U.S. economic growth.

“Other Countries should follow our lead, and cut Taxes, Regulations and, where possible, DRILL BABY DRILL,” he said.

Trump also emphasized his administration’s focus on economic expansion, writing: “GROWTH, GROWTH, GROWTH.”

“We are leading the way, and the World is watching!” he added.
